Aston Martin Key Covers

This collection covers two Aston Martin keys: the glass key of the DB9 generation and a three-button smart key. Aston Martin calls the glass key the Emotion Control Unit, or ECU: its DB9 brochure describes it as glass and stainless steel, with its own docking station in the dashboard. Each key has a hand-stitched Alcantara cover here, with an embossed button panel and a cord lanyard.

Dock or pocket?

If your car has a dock in the dashboard that the key slides into, you have the ECU and need the four-button cover (black with red or black with yellow). No dock and three buttons: take the three-button cover, in nine colourways.

When the glass cracks

Glass is the ECU's weak point. Replacement glass casings are sold for the DB9, DBS, V8 and V12 Vantage, Rapide and Vanquish, and the internals and buttons of your original key move into the new case, so a chipped key need not mean a new key. A cover keeps the glass from knocking against other keys.
